Gaza woman succumbs to wounds as Israel shells Khan Younis

A Palestinian woman has died from wounds sustained during an Israeli attack on displaced people’s tents southwest of Khan Younis. Witnesses also reported Israeli artillery shelling and large-scale demolition operations in eastern parts of the southern Gaza city. The violence comes amid ongoing Israeli violations of a ceasefire that has been in place since October 2025.
A Palestinian woman has lost her life due to injuries inflicted days earlier when Israeli forces opened fire from a military vehicle on tents sheltering displaced families southwest of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Medical sources confirmed that the woman succumbed to her wounds on Saturday, as violence continued to grip the besieged enclave despite a nominal ceasefire.
Israeli shelling and demolitions rock Khan Younis
Local witnesses reported that Israeli artillery shelled several areas east of Khan Younis while military bulldozers carried out a large-scale demolition operation in the southeastern part of the city. The simultaneous ground and artillery assaults have forced many displaced Palestinian families to flee once again, adding to the already catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Ceasefire violations mount since October 2025
These latest attacks represent yet another breach of the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025. Since that truce was announced, Israeli forces have been accused of systematically violating its terms. According to available figures, 713 Palestinians have been killed and 1,940 others wounded as a direct result of Israeli military actions during the ceasefire period alone.

Two years of destruction in Gaza
The current escalation is part of a broader Israeli military campaign that began in October 2023 and lasted two full years. That offensive, described by international legal experts as genocide, has claimed more than 72,000 Palestinian lives and left over 172,000 injured. Approximately 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, including homes, hospitals, schools, and water networks, has been either damaged or completely destroyed. Türkiye has repeatedly called for an immediate and permanent end to Israeli attacks, urging the international community to hold perpetrators accountable for war crimes.
