Gobble gobble: US town issues self-defense tips to ward off 'aggressive wild turkeys'

A small town in Massachusetts gives tips to avoid being pecked by wild turkeys
A small town in the U.S. has issued a special advisory for residents in a bid to inform them about self-defense, this time not against thieves but aggressive “wild turkeys.”
“For aggressive turkeys, don’t let them intimidate you,” Steve Kavanaugh, an animal control officer from the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, said in a written statement, recommending residents to use a hose, a leashed dog, or loud noises to scare the wild gobblers in case of an unexpected encounter.
The suggestions also underline that locals should remove shiny objects on the facade of their houses and cover windows to prevent turkeys from seeing their own reflections, just like Greek mythological figure Narcissus.
The statement came after growing complaints in the neighborhood, according to reports.
