Hamas Marks Two-Year Gaza Conflict, Praises Palestinian Resilience

The Palestinian group Hamas has released a statement marking the two-year anniversary of the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, highlighting what it describes as the "legendary steadfastness" of Palestinians facing Israeli military operations. The group emphasized that Gazans remain rooted in their land despite continued hostilities.

In its declaration, Hamas condemned what it characterized as "shameful international silence and complicity" alongside an "unprecedented Arab failure" regarding the situation in Gaza. The statement accused the Israeli military of conducting brutal attacks against Palestinian civilians in a sustained offensive that began in October 2023.

The resistance organization paid tribute to its deceased leaders, including political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh and his successor Yahya Sinwar, both killed in Israeli operations. The statement framed their legacy within the context of Palestinian resistance to what it termed "one of the harshest settler-colonial occupations known to humanity."

The commemorative statement comes as the Gaza conflict enters its third year, with the territory having suffered extensive damage and humanitarian crisis. The conflict has resulted in significant Palestinian casualties and widespread displacement, creating severe challenges for the civilian population remaining in the coastal enclave.
