Iran launched missiles at northern Israel on Thursday, followed by a separate Hezbollah rocket barrage targeting the same region, according to Israeli military sources. Sirens sounded across the area as air defense systems attempted to intercept the incoming projectiles, with no casualties reported from either attack.

Coordinated strikes from two fronts

Israeli authorities confirmed two waves of missiles fired from Iran approximately 30 minutes apart, landing in open areas without causing injuries or damage. Channel 12 reported that the projectiles struck unpopulated zones. Shortly before the Iranian assault, Hezbollah launched its own attack from Lebanese territory targeting northern Israeli communities, which also resulted in no casualties.

Threat declared over

The Israeli military announced that its air defense systems had engaged the Iranian missiles and urged residents to take shelter during the alert period. Following assessments, the army subsequently declared the threat had passed and instructed civilians that shelters could be vacated. Emergency services reported initial evaluations found no hits, deaths or injuries from either attack.

Escalating regional conflict

Thursday's attacks come amid a broader regional escalation that began Feb. 28 with a joint US-Israeli offensive on Iran, which has reportedly claimed approximately 1,300 lives, including former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Israel has also launched ground operations in Lebanon targeting Hezbollah positions, while Tehran has conducted multiple retaliatory strikes across the region in recent weeks.

Türkiye's diplomatic initiative

As cross-border attacks continue to mount, Türkiye has launched a diplomatic effort to help end the widening war, according to regional reports . Ankara maintains communication with multiple parties to the conflict while advocating for de-escalation and protection of civilian infrastructure from military strikes.
