Iran's president: Nuclear talks with US proceed with Khamenei's approval

The president's comments follow the second round of indirect nuclear negotiations held in Geneva with Omani mediation. Iran's delegation, led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, engaged with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and presidential advisor Jared Kushner. Araghchi subsequently reported progress in the Geneva discussions. The talks resume diplomatic engagement that began with a February 6 round in Muscat, conducted amid significant US military buildup in the region.

Pezeshkian's explicit reference to Khamenei's authorization underscores the supreme leader's ultimate authority over Iran's nuclear diplomacy, signaling domestic consensus behind the negotiating position.
