Israel receives 1,000th Western military supply flight since Gaza war

Israel's Defense Ministry has announced the arrival of its 1,000th aircraft delivering Western military supplies since the Gaza war began in October 2023. More than 120,000 tons of weapons, equipment and protective gear have been transported via air and sea in what officials describe as an "unprecedented" military supply operation.
Israel has received its 1,000th aircraft carrying Western military supplies since the beginning of its military operation in Gaza, according to an announcement from the Defense Ministry. The massive airlift operation, which began immediately after the war started in October 2023, has delivered over 120,000 tons of military equipment to Israel through both aerial and maritime transport channels.
Scale of Military Logistics Operation
The Defense Ministry described the ongoing supply operation as "unprecedented" in Israel's history. In addition to the 1,000 aircraft, approximately 150 maritime vessels have contributed to transporting military cargo including munitions, weapons systems, and protective gear. The 1,000th aircraft was received by Defense Ministry Director-General Maj. Gen. Amir Baram, though the ministry did not specify the exact origins of the shipments in its official statement.
International Support and Restrictions
The announcement comes amid varying levels of international support for Israel's military campaign. While the United States has maintained consistent military assistance, several Western governments have imposed restrictions on arms exports to Israel. Spain implemented a full arms embargo in September, while the United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada established limitations on weapons transfers last year.
US Military Assistance Figures
According to a report from the Washington-based Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, the United States has provided Israel with at least $21.7 billion in military assistance since the war began. The report indicated that $17.9 billion was allocated during former President Joe Biden's term following October 7, 2023, with an additional $3.8 billion under current President Donald Trump. The research organization suggested that Israel would struggle to continue its military operations without this level of American support.
