The Israeli army has claimed its forces killed more than 10 Hezbollah members during ongoing ground operations in southern Lebanon. A military spokesperson said the 36th Division continues “intensive ground activity” aimed at destroying Hezbollah infrastructure, with troops raiding militant buildings and seizing weapons. There has been no immediate response from Hezbollah regarding the Israeli claims.

The Israeli military has reported that its forces killed more than 10 Hezbollah operatives during a ground operation in southern Lebanon, as Tel Aviv continues its offensive against the Lebanese militant group. Military spokesperson Ella Wawiya stated that the 36th Division is carrying out “intensive ground activity” in the border region, describing the operation as aimed at dismantling Hezbollah’s military infrastructure.

According to the army statement, Israeli troops conducted raids on buildings allegedly used by Hezbollah, discovering weapons including shells, rifles, and ammunition. The spokesperson claimed the militants who were killed posed an “immediate threat” to Israeli forces. Hezbollah has not yet issued any official response to the Israeli account of the operation.

The ground offensive in southern Lebanon began following a Hezbollah cross-border attack on March 2, with Israeli airstrikes also pounding targets across the country. Last week, Israeli media outlet Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israeli forces were operating 7 to 9 kilometers inside Lebanese territory. Lebanese authorities have reported at least 1,024 fatalities and 2,740 injuries from Israeli attacks since the escalation began.

The conflict in Lebanon is part of a broader regional conflagration that started with joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran on Feb. 28, which have killed over 1,500 people. Tehran has responded with drone and missile operations targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries, which it says host American military assets, further widening the scope of hostilities across the region.
