Israel says nearly 4,000 injured since Iran war began, as Tel Aviv building hit

Israel's Health Ministry announced Thursday that nearly 4,000 people have been injured since the outbreak of war with Iran, as Iranian missile strikes continue to pound Israeli territory. The figures reveal the mounting human toll of the conflict now in its third week.

Casualty numbers climb

In a statement on X, the ministry reported 3,924 casualties have been recorded since the escalation began following Iranian retaliatory strikes. Currently, 79 people remain hospitalized. In the past 24 hours alone, hospitals received 177 casualties, including one person in serious condition, two in moderate condition, 167 with minor injuries and seven treated for anxiety. The steady stream of wounded underscores the intensity of the ongoing Iranian campaign.

Tel Aviv building damaged

Earlier Thursday, Israel's emergency service reported one person killed and five others injured when an Iranian missile struck the Sharon region in central Israel. The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that an eight-story building in Tel Aviv was damaged in a separate missile strike, with rescue teams searching several areas after debris fell following the attack. The strikes on major population centers demonstrate Iran's continued ability to penetrate Israeli air defenses.

Broader conflict context

The attacks come as the United States and Israel continue their joint offensive against Iran launched Feb. 28, which has killed approximately 1,300 people in Iran including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Tehran has retaliated with sustained drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and infrastructure damage while disrupting global markets and aviation. With both sides continuing to inflict damage, the conflict shows no signs of abating as the civilian toll mounts on all sides.
