Israeli strike kills nine Syrian refugees from same family in Lebanon

Lebanese authorities said nine Syrian refugees from the same family, including six children, were killed when Israeli warplanes struck their residential house in the southern town of Adloun, marking the latest violation of a fragile ceasefire extended for 45 days beginning May 17 following US-mediated talks.
Attack on Adloun
Nine Syrian refugees from the same family, including six children, were killed Saturday when Israeli warplanes struck their residential house in the southern Lebanese town of Adloun, Lebanese authorities said. Lebanese state news agency NNA reported that the airstrike targeted a house inhabited by civilians near the southern city of Sidon.
The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed that all nine bodies recovered from the rubble belonged to the same family, according to local officials. The victims were identified as Syrian nationals who had sought refuge in Lebanon from the ongoing conflict in their homeland.
Ceasefire violations
Israel has continued its attacks on Lebanon despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect on April 17. The truce was extended for 45 days beginning May 17 following indirect negotiations mediated by the United States, though strikes have persisted.
