Israeli army says its warplanes struck Hezbollah weapon depots, buildings in southern Lebanese towns

The Israeli army and Lebanese Hezbollah group on Monday exchanged attacks along border areas.

The Israeli army said it detected the firing of 13 rockets from Lebanon towards the Galilee region in northern Israel, claiming that all of them landed in open areas.

The rockets didn't cause any injuries or damage but triggered the activation of sirens, according to the Israeli army.

In another statement, the Israeli army said its warplanes struck Hezbollah weapon depots and buildings in the southern Lebanese towns of Tayr Harfa, Odaisseh, Blida, and Kfarshouba.

Hezbollah said its fighters targeted Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of the Israeli army's Metula site.

The Israeli Security Cabinet is set to convene on Monday amid growing divisions between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his defense minister on the approach toward Lebanon.

According to Israeli media reports, Gallant opposes launching a military campaign in Lebanon before reaching an agreement on a Gaza cease-fire and prisoner exchange with Palestinian group Hamas.

Tensions have spiked along Lebanon's border with Israel amid cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israeli forces as Tel Aviv pressed ahead with an offensive against Gaza, which has killed over 41,000 people since last October following a Hamas attack.
