Israeli drone strike kills Lebanese civilian in southern village, state media reports

A drone strike in Hanine killed Mohammad Tahsin Hussein Qashqash as he prepared to transport students to school, according to Lebanon's National News Agency. The attack marks another violation of the November 2024 ceasefire.
An Israeli drone strike Monday morning killed a Lebanese civilian outside his home in the southern village of Hanine, the Lebanese National News Agency reported. The victim, identified as Mohammad Tahsin Hussein Qashqash, was preparing his van to transport students to school when the drone fired several missiles, killing him instantly and setting his vehicle and a nearby SUV ablaze.
Ceasefire Violations Continue
Civil Defense crews extinguished the fire and transferred the body to Salah Ghandour Hospital in Bint Jbeil. Separately, Israeli forces advanced toward the outskirts of Aita al-Shaab and Ramyeh villages, rigging a house with explosives and detonating it. The Israeli military claimed it targeted a Lebanese man attempting to rebuild Hezbollah military infrastructure and that forces had killed three alleged Hezbollah members over the past week while destroying buildings and vehicles.
Ongoing Occupation, Rising Toll
The strikes represent continued violations of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement. Israel maintains occupation of five Lebanese hilltops seized during the latest war that began in October 2023, in addition to other Lebanese areas held for decades. The offensives have killed more than 4,000 people and wounded 17,000 in Lebanon. Lebanese authorities and Hezbollah have not yet responded to the latest Israeli claims.
