Israeli fire wounds three Palestinians in Gaza, including two children

Israeli forces opened fire on displaced civilians in southern Gaza early Thursday, wounding a woman and two children near Khan Younis. The attack marks another violation of the October 2025 ceasefire agreement.
Three Palestinians, including two children, sustained moderate injuries early Thursday after Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire toward displacement tents in the al-Maslakh area, south of Khan Younis. Medical sources confirmed the wounded—a woman and two children—were transported to Nasser Hospital for treatment.
Ceasefire Violations Continue
The attack represents the latest breach of the ceasefire agreement that took effect on Oct. 10, 2025. Israeli forces targeted civilian encampments situated outside the designated "Yellow Line"—a demarcation separating Israeli military deployment zones, comprising approximately 53% of Gaza's eastern territory, from western areas where Palestinian movement is permitted. Concurrently, Israeli aircraft conducted an airstrike within areas under army control east of Khan Younis, while artillery shelling targeted western Rafah. No casualty figures have been reported from those strikes.
Northern Gaza Also Targeted
In the northern Gaza Strip, Israeli artillery shelled areas east of Jabalia refugee camp, also beyond the Yellow Line. No immediate casualties were documented. The continued military activity, despite the formal cessation of hostilities, underscores the fragile nature of the current arrangement.
War's Devastating Toll
The October 2025 ceasefire concluded a two-year military campaign that began Oct. 8, 2023. Palestinian authorities report over 72,000 fatalities and more than 171,000 wounded, with 90% of civilian infrastructure damaged or destroyed. The United Nations estimates reconstruction costs at approximately $70 billion.
