According to the Palestinian official news agency WAFA, a large group of armed Israelis took control of a house consisting of a single room along with its surrounding area in the Cabari neighborhood of the Old City, which belongs to Palestinian resident Akka Abdulmajid Cabari.
The settlers reportedly raised an Israeli flag over the property.
The report recalled that Israelis had previously seized the Nasr family home in Hebron on Sept. 3.
Arif Cabir, a member of the civil society organization the Human Rights Defenders Group, told Anadolu that dozens of Israelis arriving from a nearby illegal settlement outpost carried furniture and ladders toward the house.
Cabir noted that the seized home is located at the center of a neighborhood where Palestinians reside.
In January 1997, the Hebron Protocol was signed between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Israel.
Under the agreement, the city was divided into two areas, designated “H1” and “H2.”
The protocol stipulated that “H1,” comprising 80% of the city, would remain under Palestinian control.
“H2,” covering the remaining 20% of Hebron—including the Ibrahimi Mosque and the Old City—was assigned to a mixed arrangement: a civil administration under Palestinian authority and security oversight by Israel.
