The Kazakh leader's endorsement came shortly after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that his country would not attack neighbouring nations unless strikes are launched from their territory against Iran.

Presidential press secretary Aibek Smadiyarov confirmed on Telegram that Tokayev views the Iranian statement as a vital confidence-building measure aimed at reducing the heightened tensions gripping the Middle East.
