Kuwait says 6 injured by debris in residential area after Iranian attack

Kuwait’s Health Ministry reported that six people were injured when debris and shrapnel from an “unjust Iranian attack” fell on a northern residential area. Injuries were minor, including temporary hearing effects and fall-related wounds, with all patients in stable condition.
Kuwait’s Health Ministry announced early Monday that falling debris and shrapnel from what it described as an “unjust Iranian attack” struck a residential area in the northern part of the country, injuring six people. Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah al-Sanad told Kuwait News Agency that the central operations room received reports at dawn of projectiles and fragments landing in the area. Emergency medical teams and ambulance services responded immediately.
Minor injuries reported
The spokesman detailed that injuries ranged from minor wounds to temporary hearing effects caused by loud blasts, as well as fall-related injuries linked to the explosion. All six patients received necessary medical care following approved protocols and remain in stable condition, with no serious complications reported. The ministry did not specify whether the debris resulted from an intercepted missile or a direct impact.
Regional escalation and Türkiye’s concerns
The incident is the latest in a series of cross-border strikes affecting Gulf nations since the US and Israel launched their joint offensive on Iran on February 28. That campaign has killed more than 1,340 people to date, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, while also restricting shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. For Türkiye, which maintains close economic and diplomatic ties with Kuwait and other Gulf states, the injury of civilians from falling debris underscores the widening geographic reach of the conflict. Ankara has repeatedly warned that Gulf nations are being drawn into a war not of their making and has called for an immediate ceasefire to protect civilian populations.
