Kuwait shoots down one drone, four UAVs amid ongoing Iranian attacks

Sustained campaign
Kuwait has been repeatedly targeted by Iranian drones and missiles since the conflict began. Official data shows Kuwait has intercepted 309 ballistic missiles and 616 drones since Feb. 28, according to compiled figures from the government's information center and the military.
Regional escalation
Regional escalation has continued since Israel and the US launched an offensive against Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people according to Iranian authorities, including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and more than 150 schoolgirls. Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and infrastructure damage while disrupting global markets and aviation.

Gulf defenses
Gulf states have maintained high alert since the war began, with air defense systems intercepting thousands of projectiles. The UAE reported the highest number of interceptions with 414 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,914 drones, followed by Saudi Arabia with 52 missiles and 1,006 drones, and Qatar with 206 ballistic missiles and 93 drones.
