Palestinian Factions Urge Mediators to Ensure Israel's Gaza Deal Compliance

In a significant collective move, major Palestinian factions have jointly appealed to the mediating nations, including Türkiye, to guarantee Israel's complete adherence to the recently brokered Gaza ceasefire agreement. The groups expressed their gratitude for the diplomatic work that led to the deal while highlighting outstanding issues regarding Palestinian detainees.

Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) released a collective statement conveying their "deep appreciation" for what they described as the "tireless efforts" of the mediating countries: Türkiye, Egypt, and Qatar. The factions urged these nations and the United States to maintain diplomatic pressure to secure Israel's full compliance with every aspect of the accord, signaling concerns over potential violations.

The Palestinian groups framed the agreement as a significant political and security setback for Israel, claiming it thwarted plans for forced displacement. They characterized the deal as a direct result of national unity and steadfastness. The statement also detailed their own "tremendous and exhausting efforts" to secure the release of Palestinian detainees, accusing Israel of obstructing the release of a significant number, including women and prominent leaders.

Looking ahead, the factions stressed that securing the release of all prisoners remains a top national priority. They called for comprehensive Palestinian political dialogue and national unity, proposing an inclusive meeting hosted by Egypt to establish a unified strategy for the post-ceasefire phase. They explicitly rejected any foreign guardianship over Gaza, asserting that its administration is a "purely Palestinian matter," while welcoming international support for reconstruction.
