Human toll
The image captures the ongoing human cost of the Israeli war on Gaza, which has killed more than 72,000 Palestinians since October 2023. Despite a ceasefire in place since October 2025, Israeli forces have continued daily violations, killing at least 757 Palestinians since the truce took effect.
Destruction in Gaza
The UN estimates that about 90% of Gaza's civilian infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed by the Israeli war, with reconstruction costs projected at around $70 billion. The Bureij camp, like much of Gaza, has been repeatedly targeted throughout the conflict.
