Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday that Ankara and Islamabad would continue advancing bilateral ties across all areas, voicing hope that ongoing mediation efforts to end regional conflicts would soon yield positive results.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and establishing regional peace, according to a statement from the Turkish Communications Directorate. The leaders exchanged views on global developments and assessed the current state of Türkiye-Pakistan relations during the call.

Bilateral cooperation

Erdoğan told Sharif that Ankara and Islamabad would continue taking steps to advance ties in all areas, vowing to deepen the strategic partnership between the two nations. The Turkish leader emphasized the importance of sustained dialogue in achieving shared economic and security objectives.

Regional peace efforts

The president noted that Türkiye and Pakistan are working with brotherly countries to end conflicts in the region and establish lasting stability, according to the statement. He highlighted the value of ongoing mediation efforts and expressed hope that negotiations would yield positive results for the wider Muslim world.

Holiday greetings

Erdoğan also extended congratulations to Sharif and the people of Pakistan on the upcoming Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, which marks the end of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. The greeting underscored the close cultural and religious bonds between the two Muslim-majority nations.
