In talks with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon on Thursday, President Putin underscored a commitment to fulfilling all alliance obligations, particularly in defense and regional security. The Russian leader also highlighted a significant 17% growth in bilateral trade for the first seven months of the year, framing the visit as a step to deepen the longstanding partnership.

The core discussions between the two leaders focused on mutual security concerns and economic ties. Putin, in remarks released by the Kremlin, stated, "We are reliable allies. Russia values them greatly and will certainly fulfill all our obligations as an ally," directly addressing the complex situation in the region. His schedule includes participation in the second Russia-Central Asia summit, followed by a Heads of State Council meeting for the Commonwealth of Independent States on Friday.
