Putin, Xi set to discuss Ukraine, Iran and US relations during Beijing talks

Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping are expected to discuss a broad range of international issues during a tea meeting in Beijing, according to Kremlin foreign policy aide Yury Ushakov.
Ushakov said discussions would primarily focus on major global developments, including the situations surrounding Ukraine and Iran, relations with the United States, and cooperation within international organizations. He said the Chinese side remains highly interested in international affairs given Beijing’s growing global role.
Russia, China reach understandings on cooperation
According to Ushakov, Moscow and Beijing reached agreements on joint energy projects during Putin’s current visit, while the two sides also achieved understandings on what he described as “something very important,” without providing further details.
Possible US-Russia diplomatic contacts
Asked about a potential visit to Moscow by Steve Witkoff, Ushakov said no dates have been finalized despite repeated indications of interest.
He said the timing of any visit would be determined jointly by Moscow and Washington through normal diplomatic channels.
Putin's visit nears conclusion
Putin’s two-day visit to China is scheduled to conclude Wednesday and comes amid ongoing international tensions involving Ukraine, Iran and broader geopolitical relations between major powers.
