The Balkan nation of Serbia has received bomb threat reports at over 800 schools, officials announced Thursday, with the schools reportedly evacuated as a precautionary measure.
"As of 9:30 a.m. today, it was reported that bombs had been placed in a total of 807 primary and secondary schools," the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
Police from relevant regional departments, including criminal and technical units from the capital Belgrade, have been deployed, the ministry added.
According to local media, students and employees have been sent home, with classes suspended.
The ministry also said officers from the High-Tech Crime Service will work with international partners to trace the sender of the threats.
