Seven Muslim nations, including Türkiye, condemn Israeli ceasefire breaches

The foreign ministers of seven Muslim-majority countries have jointly condemned Israel's repeated violations of the Gaza ceasefire, warning they threaten political efforts and stability. The group, which includes Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, called for full commitment to the next phase of the US peace plan.
Seven Muslim-majority nations have issued a strong collective condemnation of Israel's ongoing ceasefire violations in the Gaza Strip. In a joint statement released on Sunday, the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia declared that these actions "risk escalating tensions and undermining efforts aimed at consolidating calm and restoring stability."
Warning of Threat to Political Process and Reconstruction
The ministers characterized the repeated breaches as a direct threat to the broader political process, hindering efforts to establish conditions for security and humanitarian recovery in Gaza. They urged all parties to exercise restraint and fulfill their responsibilities to preserve the ceasefire, emphasizing the critical need to create conditions conducive to early recovery and reconstruction in the devastated Palestinian enclave.
Call for Commitment to Peace Plan and International Law
The group called for full commitment to the successful implementation of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803. They reiterated that a just and permanent peace must be rooted in the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood, in line with international law, relevant UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Context of Continued Violence
The diplomatic condemnation follows reports from Gaza's media office that Israeli attacks have killed 524 people and injured 1,360 others since the October 10 ceasefire came into effect. This unified stance from key regional powers, including Türkiye as a prominent advocate for the Palestinian cause, highlights the growing international pressure to halt the violence and prioritize a political solution that ensures Palestinian rights and regional security.
