Siemens Türkiye aims to position nation as global tech export hub

Siemens Türkiye views the nation as a strategic hub for exporting global technologies in production, engineering, and R&D. The company's chair outlined plans to deepen involvement in Türkiye's industrial digital transformation through AI, automation, and smart infrastructure solutions.
Siemens Türkiye is working to establish the nation as a central hub for exporting its global technologies, leveraging local production, engineering, and research and development capabilities. In an interview with Anadolu, company chair Huseyin Gelis stated that Türkiye has evolved from a mere market into a strategic driver for Siemens' worldwide operations, significantly increasing its value and impact within the global corporate ecosystem this year.
Strategic Focus on Digital Transformation
Gelis emphasized that digital transformation is now a critical necessity for industrial competitiveness. He identified a shift from pilot projects to a demand for fully integrated, scalable, and data-driven solutions with robust cybersecurity. Key technologies in focus include artificial intelligence for production optimization, industrial automation, and real-time data analytics. Siemens' global priorities in AI automation, smart infrastructure, and sustainability directly shape its investment and business development strategy within Türkiye.
Notable Projects and Future Roadmap
The executive highlighted several major projects where Siemens Türkiye applied its expertise, including digitalization and automation efforts for steelmaker Kardemir, an energy infrastructure overhaul for petrochemical firm Petkim in partnership with SOCAR Türkiye, and a comprehensive energy services project in Gaziantep's large industrial zone. Looking ahead to 2026, Gelis said Siemens Türkiye will continue to play an active role in the country's industrial transformation, prioritizing digitalization, AI-powered applications, energy efficiency, and digital twin technologies through its Siemens Xcelerator platform.
Confidence in Türkiye's Economic Resilience
Despite acknowledging global economic challenges from geopolitical volatility, Gelis expressed confidence in Türkiye's ability to overcome them. He affirmed the company's commitment to strengthening local employment, supporting talent development, increasing domestic high-tech production, and promoting sustainable solutions. This vision aligns with and supports Türkiye's national goals of becoming a self-reliant technological power and a net exporter of high-value engineering and digital solutions.
