“The referee was unfair!”
🇪🇬 Egypt striker Mostafa Ziko became visibly emotional during his post-match interview following his team’s defeat to Argentina, criticizing the officiating and questioning the fairness of the result.
He called the referee “zalim,” a term that translates to “unfair,” “unjust,” or “oppressor.”
“The referee was unfair,” Ziko said. He then recited the Quranic verse, “Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakeel,” meaning, “Allah is sufficient for us.”
“The referee wasted the effort of an entire nation,” he stated.
Before the broadcast was abruptly cut, he went further, alleging, “The cup is being directed toward Argentina.”
