Trump announces $5 billion Gaza reconstruction pledges, international force

President Donald Trump revealed that Board of Peace member states will commit over $5 billion for Gaza reconstruction and thousands of personnel to an international stabilization force. The announcement is scheduled for Thursday at the Trump Institute of Peace in Washington.
President Donald Trump announced Sunday that member states of the newly formed Board of Peace will pledge more than $5 billion toward Gaza humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts during a gathering Thursday at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington. The announcement also includes commitments of "thousands of personnel to the International Stabilization Force and local police to maintain security and peace for Gazans," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
Part of Broader Gaza Plan
The funding and personnel commitments form a key component of Trump's 20-point plan for the war-devastated enclave. The White House last month announced the formation of a "technocratic" National Committee for the Administration of Gaza to oversee the transition of power, laying groundwork for international involvement in post-conflict governance and stabilization. The February 19 Washington gathering will formalize member state contributions to both reconstruction financing and security operations.
International Coordination
The Board of Peace appears designed to coordinate multinational support for Gaza's recovery following the devastating two-year war that killed over 72,000 Palestinians and destroyed approximately 90% of civilian infrastructure. The pledged international stabilization force would represent a significant third-party security presence in the territory.
