Trump: If Iran violates agreement, I’ll do what I have to do

President Trump warned that if Iran fails to comply with the US-Iran agreement, he will take whatever action is necessary. He confirmed the Strait of Hormuz is now open and emphasized that Iran will never possess nuclear weapons. He also criticized NATO allies for not supporting the US during the Iran conflict, saying “they were not there for us.”
US President Donald Trump issued a stark warning on Tuesday, stating that if Iran does not adhere to the recently signed agreement, he will take whatever military or diplomatic action is necessary. Speaking at a White House signing ceremony, Trump confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz is now open following the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, and reiterated that Iran will “never, ever” have nuclear weapons. When asked about the possibility of military options if Iran violates the deal, Trump responded: “If Iran doesn’t comply or act appropriately, I’ll do what I have to do.”
Economic impact and agricultural trade
Addressing the lifting of sanctions on Iranian oil, Trump said that once sanctions are removed, funds will flow to the US because Iran will use the money to buy food from American farmers. “They have 91 million people. They can’t feed them. So, the money that will be freed up by lifting sanctions will go to our farmers—largely our farmers,” he said. He also commented on Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s refusal to withdraw from southern Lebanon, saying “I’m a problem solver—I solve problems quickly, including those with Bibi.”
Criticism of NATO allies
Trump sharply criticized NATO allies for not supporting the US during the Iran conflict, stating that the US spends trillions to protect Europe but received no help in return. “I told my Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth: ‘Let’s see if they actually show up.’ We wanted them to come, but they weren’t there for us. It was foolish of them not to stand with us,” Trump said. He singled out the UK, Italy, and Germany for what he called a poor performance on Iran, adding that the US may reciprocate by refusing to aid them in the future.
