Trump says Iran deal text to be released after Friday

US President Donald Trump announced that the text of the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran will be made public following the signing ceremony scheduled for Friday in Switzerland, as he met with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France.
US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the text of the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran will be released "sometime after Friday," telling reporters during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the G7 summit in Evian, France: "I think pretty soon. I would say, I mean, I want it to be released, because it's a very powerful document." Trump confirmed that "the deal's all signed" and stated that the Strait of Hormuz is "already partially" reopened, with the waterway expected to be "completely opened" on Friday.
Vance to represent US at signing
Vice President JD Vance will attend the signing ceremony scheduled for Friday in Switzerland, Trump said, adding that his own presence remains uncertain. "JD is coming in for it. He was originally going to do it. I'll probably be gone by then ...I may be involved. I may not, but JD was coming in for that specifically," he stated. The announcement follows Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's disclosure earlier Monday that Washington and Tehran had reached a peace agreement, with Islamabad having led mediation efforts between the two sides. The G7 comprises Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Sanctions tied to compliance
Regarding sanctions relief, Trump characterized the mechanism as contingent on Iranian compliance, stating: "It's really a behavioral thing. If they do what they're supposed to do, that starts taking effect." Macron welcomed the agreement as "very important" for resolving the nuclear issue and stabilizing Lebanon, while Trump said the US wants to see "if we can straight out the Lebanon." Israeli forces conducted demolitions in southern Lebanon on Monday despite the announced peace agreement, and local municipalities urged displaced residents to delay their return.
