Trump says US in 'very deep negotiations' with Iran

President Donald Trump announced Saturday that Washington is engaged in intensive talks with Tehran in Islamabad, adding that the US has already “defeated them militarily.” Trump claimed that reaching a deal “makes no difference” to him, as America has “won regardless.”
US President Donald Trump revealed on Saturday that American and Iranian officials are holding “very deep negotiations” in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad. Speaking to reporters before departing the White House, Trump offered a confident assessment of the ongoing dialogue.
Trump declares military victory over Iran
“We're going to see what happens. We're in very deep negotiations with Iran. We win regardless. We've defeated them militarily,” Trump said. He later added, “Whether we make a deal or not, it makes no difference to me — and the reason is because we've won.”
Trilateral meetings underway in Islamabad
The president’s remarks came as the US, Pakistan, and Iran launched face-to-face trilateral meetings on Saturday. The talks aim to end the wider regional conflict in the Middle East, building on a fragile two-week ceasefire brokered earlier this week. Pakistan is hosting the rare negotiations, positioning itself as a key mediator between Washington and Tehran.
