US President Donald Trump has indicated that Cuba could be the next target of American military action following operations in Venezuela and Iran. Speaking at a Saudi business conference in Florida, he described the US military as a force he built but said sometimes it must be used.

President Donald Trump signaled on Friday that Cuba may be the next focus of US military action, following what he characterized as successful operations in Venezuela and Iran. Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative, a Saudi business conference held in Florida, Trump reflected on the military capabilities built during his administration while suggesting further deployments could be on the horizon.

President’s remarks blend boast with caution

“I built this great military. I said, ‘You’ll never have to use it,’ but sometimes you have to use it. And Cuba is next, by the way,” Trump told the audience. He then appeared to temper his statement, adding with a lighthearted tone: “But pretend I didn’t say that. Please, pretend I didn’t. Please, please, please, media, please disregard that statement.” The remarks come amid ongoing US-Israeli military operations against Iran that began in late February, which have drawn regional retaliation and raised tensions across the Middle East.

Regional implications extend beyond Middle East

Trump’s comments about Cuba, made at an event focused on investment and economic ties, signal a potential expansion of US military posture beyond the Middle East. The Cuban government has not issued an immediate response to the president’s remarks. Türkiye, which maintains diplomatic relations with Cuba and has cultivated ties across Latin America, continues to advocate for peaceful resolution of international disputes and has cautioned against unilateral military action that could further destabilize global order.
