Trump warns Iran will be ‘blown off the face of the Earth’ if US ships attacked

President Trump told Fox News that Iran would be “blown off the face of the Earth” if it attacks American vessels operating under “Project Freedom” in the Strait of Hormuz. He invited South Korea to join the maritime mission after an Iranian attack damaged a South Korean cargo ship. US destroyers are now operating in the Gulf.
US President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran on Monday, saying that the country would be “blown off the face of the Earth” if it attacks American vessels participating in “Project Freedom” in the Strait of Hormuz. Fox News’ Trey Yingst reported: “I spoke with President Trump for 20 minutes about the situation with Iran. He talked about Project Freedom and the US efforts to guide vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, issuing a new warning to the Iranian regime saying if the Iranians try to target US ships in this area, they will be, quote, ‘blown off the face of the Earth.’” Trump described Iran as “more malleable” than in the past and noted that the US military buildup in the region is continuing, with “more weapons and ammunition at a much higher grade.”
Call for South Korean involvement
In a post on Truth Social, Trump highlighted that Iran had targeted a South Korean cargo ship, saying: “Perhaps it’s time for South Korea to come and join the mission.” South Korea’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that an explosion and subsequent fire damaged the Panama-flagged HMM Namu while anchored off the UAE. Trump told ABC News that “shots were fired at a South Korean ship, and I think South Korea should take some action… This was a South Korean ship riding by itself. It was not an escorted ship.” The US has already deployed guided-missile destroyers to the Gulf under Project Freedom.
