High-Level Delegation and Regional Diplomacy
Erdoğan was accompanied by a delegation including First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, and Defense Minister Yaşar Güler. The visit represents the first leg of a regional tour that will next take the Turkish president to Cairo on Wednesday at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Upcoming Türkiye-Egypt Strategic Council Meeting
In Cairo, Erdoğan and Sisi will co-chair the second meeting of the Türkiye-Egypt High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. The leaders are expected to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments—with a particular focus on Palestine—and international issues. Erdoğan is also scheduled to attend a Türkiye-Egypt Business Forum, underscoring the economic dimension of the diplomatic outreach.
