President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Azerbaijan to participate in Victory Day commemorations in Baku. The Turkish leader is scheduled to hold meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the visit.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will travel to Azerbaijan on Saturday to participate in ceremonies marking the country's Victory Day on November 8. The visit to Baku underscores the strong bilateral relationship between Türkiye and Azerbaijan while providing an opportunity for high-level diplomatic engagement.

Scheduled Diplomatic Meetings

During his visit, President Erdogan is expected to conduct separate meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. These discussions will take place alongside the official Victory Day celebrations, facilitating trilateral cooperation between the participating nations.

Agenda for Bilateral Discussions

The meetings are anticipated to address multiple aspects of bilateral relations, regional security developments, and current global issues. Communications Director Burhanettin Duran confirmed the diplomatic agenda through an announcement on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, highlighting the strategic importance of these engagements.

Significance of Victory Day

Victory Day commemorates Azerbaijan's military success in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, a event of particular significance to Türkiye given its strong support for Azerbaijan during the hostilities. President Erdogan's participation reinforces the deep historical and cultural ties between the two Turkic nations and their continued strategic partnership.
