Türkiye is continuing to invest in quantum technology, as superiority in quantum, like nuclear technology, has become a key area for technological independence, the chairman of Turkish information technology (IT) firm ComPro told Anadolu.

Abdurrahman Keklik said the impact of quantum technology is on the rise worldwide, which is reflected in investments by global companies.
“Since last year, we have taken important steps to further develop this quantum initiative in Türkiye to enable our own quantum technology—we will hopefully be able to share developments with the public in the short period,” he said.
Keklik emphasized that quantum technology can impact “everything across a wide spectrum,” as quantum computers can solve problems that regular computers cannot or would take a very long time to solve.
He mentioned “personalized medicine” as an example of the benefits quantum technology can bring. “It may seem distant, but it’s not,” he said.
“In 10 years, the world will be a different place, and if you as a country don’t have your own quantum technology, you may face a sort of ‘quantum captivity,’” he noted.
Keklik added that the importance of having superiority over nuclear technologies today will be the same for quantum technologies in the future.
