Civilian damage in Qom
The governor of Qom province, Akbar Behnamjou, previously said that nearly 1,000 civilian buildings had been damaged in the city since the start of the US-Israeli attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, with 106 people killed, including 30 security personnel. Qom, a major religious center and home to the Fatima Masumeh Shrine, has been repeatedly targeted throughout the conflict.
Escalating strikes
The strike comes as President Donald Trump has threatened further attacks on Iranian infrastructure, posting on Truth Social that US forces "hasn't even started destroying what's left in Iran. Bridges next, then Electric Power Plants!" Trump has set Tuesday evening as a deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, warning of severe consequences.
