Zelenskyy discusses Ukrainian drone incident over Finland with Stubb

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Monday that he discussed the flying of Ukrainian drones over Finnish airspace in a phone call with his Finnish counterpart, Alexander Stubb. "Of course, we mentioned the recent drone incident that took place in Finland. Alex and I see this situation the same way. We are providing all the necessary information," he said on Telegram.
Strategic agreements
He also informed Stubb about his recent meetings and negotiations in the Middle East and Gulf region. "Strategic agreements are already in place, and our contribution to security and stabilization can be significant," he noted. Zelenskyy also announced that together with Stubb, they are preparing "communication formats with other European leaders." "Unwavering attention is also being paid to work on the American track," he said.
Finnish response
The incident involving two drones entering Finnish airspace became known on Sunday, March 29. Finland's Defense Minister Antti Hakkanen said Helsinki "takes the incident very seriously," that an investigation into the circumstances of the event is ongoing, and that more detailed information will be provided after the facts are confirmed.

The call comes amid Ukraine's continued efforts to maintain strong relations with European partners while also engaging with Middle Eastern countries. Ukraine has deployed anti-drone specialists to Gulf countries to help counter Iranian Shahed drones, with President Zelenskyy noting that Ukraine can produce 2,000 low-cost interceptors daily.
