Zelenskyy says Geneva peace document refined in US-led Florida talks

President Zelenskyy reports that Ukrainian and US negotiators have worked on refining the Geneva-based peace document, discussing frontline security and ceasefire risks. He warned of new Russian disinformation campaigns ahead of planned US-Russia meetings.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed that negotiations with the United States in Florida focused on refining a Geneva-based peace document while addressing critical military and diplomatic coordination. Following a detailed briefing from his delegation, Zelenskyy stated that the discussions with the American side were substantive and grounded in the existing Geneva framework, which has now been "refined" to address current realities on the ground.
Substantive Discussions on Frontline Realities
Zelenskyy highlighted that Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov provided the US with a comprehensive briefing on the battlefield situation. With intelligence input, the talks covered the feasibility of various frontline steps, protection from Russian strikes, and managing the risks of potential ceasefire violations. This military-strategic dialogue indicates that the diplomatic process is being closely integrated with on-the-ground security assessments, aiming to bridge the gap between political agreements and battlefield stability.
Coordinating with Europe and Countering Disinformation
The Ukrainian leader emphasized ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure strong engagement from European partners within the "Coalition of the Willing." He also issued a stark warning, alleging that Russia has "already launched new disinformation campaigns" ahead of its own planned meetings with the US. Zelenskyy instructed his team to continue constructive work with both President Trump's administration and European allies, while intelligence services will share information on Russian attempts to use diplomacy to weaken sanctions or influence European decisions.
Aims for "Real Peace and Guaranteed Security"
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine approaches these diplomatic efforts with "utmost seriousness," with the ultimate goal being "real peace and guaranteed security." He asserted that similar commitment "must be compelled from the Russian side," a task he believes is only possible through unified pressure from Kyiv's international partners. To maintain momentum, the Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council will remain in continuous contact with US counterparts to coordinate the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings.
