45 Syrian, Palestinian and Myanmarese migrants were detained as they tried to illegally cross the border
A total of 45 illegal immigrants were captured in Turkey's northwestern province of Edirne on Tuesday, May 19, as they tried to illegally cross the border.
They were captured by Edirne gendarmerie forces, while the gendarmerie was patrolling the villages of Bosnaköy and Yenikadın and the border districts of Uzunköprü and Meriç.
The immigrants were reported as coming from Syria, Palestine and Myanmar.
After their legal procedures were completed, the captured migrants were sent to the Edirne Security Directorate Foreign Affairs.
