Endangered sea turtles begin arriving at beach in southern Turkey for mating season
Caretta carettas which are endangered sea turtles have started to arrive at Iztuzu Beach, in southern Turkey. Volunteers at the Sea Turtle Research, Rescue and Rehabilitation Center are helping the sea turtles in their annual breeding cycle. Nesting normally starts at the beginning of May and continues until August. Baby turtles hatch after two months. Iztuzu Beach is one of 21 caretta caretta breeding areas in Turkey.
