Cockroaches and mosquitoes! Can insects infect humans with coronavirus?

As summer approaches, a new question has emerged about the animal source of the deadly disease: ‘Do insects, such as cockroaches, houseflies and mosquitoes, pose a risk for spreading COVID-19?’
The world has been pondering whether the novel coronavirus can be transmitted from animals to humans since the beginning of the outbreak. Numerous studies have been conducted to try and explain the link between the two; however the mystery behind the role that animals play in spreading the COVID-19 disease has not yet been fully revealed.
Scientists have been focusing on cats, dogs, minks, livestock and wild animals to understand the spread of coronavirus. As summer arrives, and with it the warm weather, a new question has emerged about the source of the deadly disease: "Do insects such as cockroaches, flies and mosquitoes pose a risk in the spread of COVID-19?"
Pointing out that the new coronavirus is mainly transmitted via respiratory droplets and contaminated surfaces, Prof. Dr. Pınar Okyay, a member of the Turkish Health Ministry's Science Committee, said that the World Health Organization has made it very clear that such a transmission is not possible.
