Turkey unveils new promotional video: ‘Home of Poetry’

“Home of Poetry”, a promotional video prepared within the scope of the “Turkey Home” global tourism campaign by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, airs on social media
Produced within “Turkey Home”, Turkey’s global tourism campaign, which has been ongoing since 2014, the “Home of Poetry” promotional video has been produced to share Turkey’s culture, art and literary treasures with the world, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism stated.
As well as a general promotional video lasting 3.38 minutes, Home of Poetry includes three more short videos each consisting of 60 seconds. Filming and montage of the project concluded in 12 cities and various districts during the duration of nearly four months.
Istanbul, Kütahya, Isparta, Bursa, Malatya, Trabzon, Antalya, Muğla, Mardin, İzmir and Denizli are among the cities where filming took place. The library scenes were filmed at Abbey library of Saint Gall, a museum library in Switzerland.

The videos have been shared on the ministry’s social media accounts.
In the video, a bibliophile comes across an anthology of Turkish poetry in the library, and reminisces over his family visits to Turkey. His memories are narrated with the verses of Turkish poets, high-definition scenes of Turkey’s historical and natural beauties, and cultural and gastronomical treasures.
The text used in promotional video is composed of verses from Enis Batur, Erdem Bayazıt, İlhan Berk, Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, Edip Cansever, Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Nazım Hikmet, Attila İlhan, Adnan Özer, Ziya Osman Saba, Cemal Süreya, Kemal Tahir, Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, Ömer Bedrettin Uşaklı and Turgut Uyar.
