Turkey's comedy legend Levent Kırca dies

After battling cancer for nearly four months, Levent Kırca, the veteran actor and star of numerous movies, dies at the age of 67
The famous comedian died of liver cancer early Monday at Marmara University's Research Hospital, his son Umut said.
Levent Kırca was hospitalized 10 days ago after his condition had worsened. The actor was receiving chemotherapy at the hospital after he had been diagnosed with cancer in July.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday for the deceased in accordance with his family's joint decision.
Kırca was a father of four. He was born in 1948, Samsun, north of Turkey. The actor began his career at the Turkish State Theater in 1964. He continued his career on the silver screen with his role in “Golden City," his first movie, in 1978.
Kırca later starred in numerous movies and theater performances. His first movie as the director is, “The End." The film, which was released in 2002, is about the adventures of six men, who decide to direct a movie together after failing at every other job attempt.
He is best know for the comedy television series, “Olacak O Kadar," which ran on Turkish channels for 22 years.
