She was able to complete the incredible feat in no more than 30 minutes, which won her a grand prize of 15,000 Turkish liras
A Turkish woman from the western province of Denizli made history on Wednesday after setting a new world record as she successfully gulped down a whopping 290 skewers of kebab.
Mihriban Kadap, a petite woman who weighs no more than 43 kilograms, was taking part in a food tournament organized by renowned kebab chef Mehmet Kaya that was broadcasted live on Facebook and watched by over 4 million viewers.
She was able to complete the incredible feat in no more than 30 minutes, which won her a grand prize of 15,000 Turkish liras (approx. 2,380 USD).
Millions tuned in to the live broadcast as Kadap munched on skewer after skewer of the Turkish cuisine staple, breaking several records in the process.

Along with the 290 kebab skewers, Kadap had also eaten a bowl of salad, a plate of French fries and a jaw-dropping one kilogram of ketchup and mayonnaise by the end of the competition.
Kadap was able to wash down the kebabs with the help of three glasses of refreshing ayran (a Turkish beverage made with yogurt).
Kaya had previously entered the Guinness Book of World Records two years ago for the biggest ever kebab grill after managing to have 180,000 skewers cooking at once.
