Numan Kurtulmus, Ervin Ibrahimovic discuss bilateral, regional, and global issues, as well as enhancing parliamentary relations

Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus met with Montenegro's Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimovic on Thursday and discussed bilateral, regional, and global issues, as well as enhancing parliamentary relations.

Kurtulmus emphasized Ankara's strong and positive relations with Podgorica, expressing a commitment to strengthening these ties further, a statement from the Turkish parliament said.

Türkiye's primary priority in the Balkans is to maintain peace, stability, and prosperity, Kurtulmus said, adding “We will continue to work with all Balkan countries, particularly Montenegro, to ensure peace and stability in our region.”

Meanwhile, the head of the Turkish parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, Fuat Oktay, also met with Ibrahimovic.

During the meeting in parliament, Oktay said bilateral relations with Montenegro are at a high level.

He also announced that he would visit Montenegro, emphasizing that the two countries are friends and that the strategic goals of Türkiye and Montenegro are aligned.

"Our desire is to develop bilateral and international cooperation with Montenegro,” he said.

Ibrahimovic, for his part, pointed out that the two countries have strong relations.

There are collaborations between the two countries in many areas, he added.
