Assailant to testify in CHP leader''s attack

The perpetrator, who attacked the Republican People''s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kiliçdaroglu at Parliament, was brought the court on Thursday following his statement at the police station.

Ovet is expected to testify at the public prosecutor''s office.

Orhan Övet delivered several kicks and punched at Kiliçdaroglu after entering Parliament as a visitor before the oppostion leader''s group meeting.

Övet had been released from prison three months ago after serving a sentence on charges of injuring a person.
