Belgium’s Queen Mathilde concluded her official visit to Türkiye on Tuesday, departing from Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport after a five-day program centred on the Belgian Economic Mission. High-level meetings and business forums
During her stay, Queen Mathilde held talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Vahdettin Pavilion and met First Lady Emine Erdoğan at Dolmabahçe Palace. She also met Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat at the Belgian Consulate in Istanbul. The queen attended the Türkiye-Belgium Business Forum organised by DEIK, joined high-level roundtable meetings with Turkish and Belgian company representatives, and participated in programs focused on industry, technology, women’s economic participation, and biopharmaceutical cooperation.
Tours of technology and culture
The queen visited the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye’s Istanbul Finance Center campus, toured Baykar’s Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center, and viewed the “Century-Old Elegance” exhibition showcasing Turkish cultural heritage. She also visited Ortaköy and the Istanbul Naval Museum.
