Erdoğan: Israel tramples human values, global order needs reform

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has accused Israel of “trampling on humanity’s shared values” through crimes against humanity, writing in a Kazakh news agency that the Gaza catastrophe exposes the failures of the current international system. He urged reform of global governance mechanisms.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has sharply criticised Israel’s actions in Gaza, stating that the country is “trampling on humanity’s shared values through the crimes against humanity it has committed.” In an article titled “The Key to Peace in Eurasia: The Turkic World,” published by Kazakhstan’s Kazinform news agency following his Astana visit, Erdoğan argued that the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza has laid bare the shortcomings of the existing international order.
Global system under stress
Erdoğan wrote that regional conflicts today constitute comprehensive challenges to global security, economic prosperity, and stability. He noted that the global system is undergoing a serious stress test due to geopolitical rivalry, energy supply disruptions, and financial volatility — with artificial intelligence-driven transformation further deepening fragility. Recalling his 2014 UN General Assembly address, Erdoğan said the message that “the world is bigger than five” carries even greater relevance today. He stressed that global and regional crises can only be resolved through an order based on enforceable rules.
Türkiye-Kazakhstan partnership
Erdoğan emphasised that Türkiye’s partnership with Kazakhstan holds “an exceptional place” in its foreign policy, particularly in addressing UN Security Council structural challenges and ensuring lasting economic prosperity. He noted that bilateral trade is approaching 10 billion, Turkish investments in Kazakhstan have nearly reached 6 billion, and Turkish contractors have completed nearly 550 projects worth over 30 billion. The two leaders have set a new bilateral trade target of 15 billion. Erdoğan also invited “our Kazakh brothers and sisters” to Ankara, named the 2026 Tourism Capital of the Turkic World.
