Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hosted Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, chairman of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council, in the capital on Tuesday for wide-ranging talks. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and pressing regional security matters.
Diplomatic efforts in Sudan
Erdogan emphasized that Ankara maintains active efforts to halt the bloodshed gripping Sudan, according to the Turkish Communications Directorate. The statement was posted on the domestic social media platform NSosyal.
Trade and defense ties
The Turkish president underlined ongoing work to develop relations between Türkiye and Sudan in trade, agriculture, energy and defense. Both sides reviewed cooperation frameworks during the closed-door meeting.
