Fidan, Iranian FM Araghchi discuss US-Iran talks in phone call

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone call with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi to review the status of US-Iran talks. Iran said it is still reviewing a US proposal aimed at ending the conflict and will announce its final position once the review is completed.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Friday held a phone call with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi to review the status of US-Iran talks. According to Turkish Foreign Ministry sources, the two ministers reviewed the current stage in the talks between Tehran and Washington.
Iran's position
Iran said on Friday that it is still reviewing a US proposal aimed at ending the conflict. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told the semi-official Tasnim news agency that Tehran is continuing its assessment of the proposal and will announce its final position once the review process is completed.
Ceasefire context
The call comes amid a fragile US-Iran ceasefire brokered by Pakistan that took effect on April 8. Talks in Islamabad failed to produce a lasting agreement, and the truce was later extended by President Trump without a set deadline. Recent military exchanges in the Strait of Hormuz have heightened tensions, though both sides have signaled continued diplomatic engagement.
