Kurdish singer hails Erdogan''s election victory
The world''s most famous Kurdish singer, Sivan Perwer, said that Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan must be appreciated for his landslide victory he gained in the last municipal election despite all attacks on him and his close allies.
''Erdogan secured yet another big win despite all charges which means he fulfilled requirements of the society and responded their needs,'' said Perwer in an interview in Arbil.
The renowned singer called for further efforts to accelerate Turkey''s peace process with Kurds. ''When I met with Prime Minister Erdogan, I asked him promises will be kept and the peace process will be gained a broader sense,'' he said.
Masoud Barzani, the President of Kurdish enclave in northern Iraq, famous singer Sivan Perwer and Prime Minister Erdogan gathered for a historical meeting in Diyarbakir in 2013 to boost the peace process, which aims to end the decades-old conflict. Popular Turkish singer Ibrahim Tatlises and Perwer took to the stage amid peaceful messages.
Perwer said he may return to Turkey if the circumstances are developed in the country. ''Prime Minister Erdogan asked me why I do not return to the country. I said him I am ready to serve the country when the conditions are improved,'' he added.
